Mpho Elizabeth Mpofu is a philanthropist and development practitioner from Zimbabwe. She is also a professional Criminologist who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Studies from the University of Botswana. She will be pursuing an MSc in International Development from the University of Bristol in September 2019.
She is the Founder and former Executive Director of a non-profit organization called the Voice of Africa which is a member of Girls Not Brides a global partnership to ending child marriages.

The Voice of Africa is mandated in community capacity-building, human rights advocacy and the promotion of gender equality. Mpho currently works with ActionAid International Uganda as a Gender Response and Public Service Advocate.
Her work with ActionAid focuses on women’s rights and development, where she advocates for equal opportunities and gender aware policies. Mpho is passionate about transforming lives and believes in the possibility of a world free of poverty, where equity and dignity is possible when youth drive the development agenda as agents of change.

As a member of the Zimbabwe Independent Youth Advisory Panel she consults and acts on the needs of youths, she also advises on youth issues and draft policies that protect, promote and fulfil the rights of young people in Zimbabwe.
She is a seasoned human and social development expert who has worked as a research assistant with UNHCR Botswana and has travelled extensively to present on issues of women’s rights. During her spare time, she writes for Wellbeing for Women Africa as their Youth Partner and also mentors girls.
